i've become a simple souvenir of someone's kill ganesh ambled along slowly, joshi perched delicately on his back and whispering praise into his large ear. he didn't enjoy much being in the city, but it really couldn't be helped since she wasn't one to go through the city on foot. there were some people she'd rather avoid, and the best way to get people to leave you alone was on the back of a large animal with huge tusks. plus, with the medium sized crate behind her full of goods she'd gotten from the defenders in trade, it was good to have a bit of muscle around to help. "we're close ganesh, just a bit further and we'll be home free." she encouraged quietly to the unsettled creature. it was the smoke and fire that spooked ganesh, and the distance presence of wildlife that had escaped from preservations and zoos that had bred and thrived. patting the top of the elephants painted head, joshi squinted into the distance and hummed. there was a figure there, with light colored hair. nudging her heel behind ganesh's ear, she directed him toward the figure, raising a hand in greeting. "hey! friendly!" @tag words etc MADE BY VEL OF GS

As Voice of the Voiceless it paid to have contacts all over the place who could get the juiciest new rumors to your ears. Ragging on the Military was fun and profitable true, but it was necessary to discuss the other side as well. No way did M.C. Punk want to be considered a Rebel sympathizer. Not with how the Rebellion was being run and by whom it was run, anyway. Word hadn't been coming in from the outside world, though, which meant it was necessary to go do some leg work. Dangerous as it was Punk did have some knowledge of how to get in and out of the Dome without being noticed by Military patrols. This was the emcee's first trip out of the Dome in a few months, so the pinknette was being extra careful. No sudden moves that were going to get the waitress persona noticed by unsavory sorts who might cause the next broadcast to be delayed.
It was also a chance to search for information on Celeste. The fellow-server hadn't been around recently and that worried Millie quite a deal. So many drunken louts had been unduly interested in Celeste, it was really only a matter of time before one of them tried something. Yet nobody inside the Dome knew anything about the pretty waitress whom Millie had become work buddies with. That meant either the military had gotten to Celeste or that Celeste had gone outside the Dome somehow. As she carefully trod through the gutted out remnants of a building it proved fortunate that she was wearing boots. Mismatched as they were for her waitress uniform, they were better suited for exploration than heels or basic flats. Nobody outside the Dome had met Monroe, so it was fine to wear his boots here. Until up the street came.. an elephant. A freaking elephant. What in the hell was going on here? Millie stared at the animal dumbfounded until its rider (a RIDER?!) spoke to her.
"Huh? Oh, hi there!" she waved back after taking time to process this new arrival, "I'm looking for my friend.. do you think you could help me?"

i've become a simple souvenir of someone's kill the younger female was cute, that was for sure. judging by the outfit she was from the dome, it looked similar to one of celeste's outfits he'd shown joshi when they grabbed his things. ganesh stopped in front of the girl, trunk raising to touch her face gently. "sure no problem, you looking in the city or heading back out to look around there? i may have passed your friend, just came back from a trade." she swung her thumb back to motion at the crate, and nudged behind ganesh's ears. ganesh reached around the small person's waist with his trunk, easily lifting the figure onto his back. "name's joshi. this is ganesh, i'm a seahawk wingmaster. your friend defect from the dome? you dress like someone i know." she chatted amiably, nudging ganesh to start moving again. the elephant called out, raising his painted trunk in the air. @tag words etc MADE BY VEL OF GS

Surprisingly the elephant riding woman turned out to be rather helpful in her own way. It seemed at first that she was some kind of trader who just happened to have acquired a large animal as her personal mount. More bizarre things had probably happened in the world but this had to be way up there. Millie was hoping that sort of vantage point might allow the woman to have seen anyone else scurrying about in the ruins. At least the trader might well have heard something from other traders about a recent escapee/captive from the Dome passing through. What she really hadn't been prepared for was to have the elephant wrap its nose.. er.. trunk.. around her waist and lift her up. Having never encountered an animal like this before in her life, she was wide eyed in fright at what it might be doing to her. Then she was on the beast's back, behind the rider. How wonderfully anticlimactic!
Relief crossed her face as she remarked, "Oh.. well thanks for the lift, Ganesh. I've never seen anything like this before.."
Getting back to the point, she explained, "So I'm not really sure whether they defected, got kidnapped or whatever else.. I'm just really worried about them. After working in that dive of an area with bars I'm worried something really bad happened. But if you've seen someone else who dresses like me maybe you can help.. my friend's name is Celeste.."
