Georgina Harper

Georgina Harper was born into a military family, raised by the military and always surrounded by its teachings and ideals.  Her parents were both officers who instilled in her the 'proper' way to do things in the service.  They were stern but fair as they raised her to be self-sufficient and prepared for her own future as a soldier.  From a young age she was educated better than the average trooper, though parental love was never part of the equation.  She was to be a leader of soldiers, not some kindhearted mother.  Once she reached sixteen she enlisted as expected and began to display a knack for leadership.  Additionally she studied psychology to learn how better to understand and drive her troops.

Months into her service both parents were killed in a skirmish against Echos, leaving her a ward of the system.  However she remained fortunate in that the leader of the community, The General, had taken notice of her abilities.  He took her in as his own and fostered her potential; aware of his own mortality, he was grooming a potential successor.  Only if she could prove herself by advancing through the ranks of her own ability would she prove worthy of the mantle however.  Through well-learned manipulation, actual leadership skills and backroom politics, she shot up through the ranks.  By the time that she turned twenty-three, Gerogina was a Colonel, receiving promotion just as The General fell deathly ill.  Her time had come.


Some final behind-the-scenes maneuvering eliminated her main rivals for power or bought their loyalty.  Upon the first General's death the Joint Council named her the new General, leader of human society in the dome.  Since that day Georgina has taken the reigns of leadership firmly, eager to protect what she sees as the purest form of life - full humans.  No methods are too  ruthless to maintain order and protect that frail flame of humanity.  Under her leadership the previous General's traditions were maintained and enhanced - daily broadcasts to the population to inform and mold them into proper citizens.  Propaganda became as important a tool to her as brute force, and every day's broadcasts would begin and end with the 'national anthem' and the song of 'the Corps' (the military personnel/leadership).  Education too became wrapped up in the propaganda, maintaining references to the distant American past while abandoning - not even mentioning - its democratic nature.  Order demands discipline and stability, which democracy does not offer; that is a prime lesson The General taught her.  Georgina Harper remains ready and willing to preserve order at any cost.
