"Yes, sir..." Celeste said timidly as she went off to fetch drinks for a table of men at this bar establishment he was sent off to today. Each day was different, he was a high-demand commodity, so everyone wanted a piece of him. The only saving grace of his work was that his tips were typically unusually large, as a result of the clientele. Holding a metal tray with mugs of booze Celeste carefully gave each man at the table his drink, and he could not help but notice just how some of them were staring at him with eyes that intimidated him. He did not want to anger any of them, so he stayed silent and tried to smile, but all that came out was a soft, and timid look, that only seemed to inflame them even further. Celeste whimpered softly as he felt a hand around his waist; Celeste today was wearing form-fitting clothing, you could see his feminine curves, hard to tell that Celeste was really a boy to begin with.
The 'waitress' whimpered again. As he felt the arm around his waist, all he could ask was this. "An, anything else you would like, sirs?" One of them grinned, bellowing out in laughter, asking Celeste to stay with them. In turn the boy looked at the bartender, who looked a bit dismayed at the situation, but had no choice but to nod and approve as he knew that it would be Celeste who brought in the big bucks for the establishment. One man at the table Celeste attended brought over an empty chair, making Celeste sit next to him. "Erm... So, how are you all doing?" Celeste asked, in an attempt to try to be friendly, though he was definitely nervous.
The man he was seated next to wrapped an arm around his shoulder and reeled him dangerously close. Celeste silently gulped "Hey, we're great, thanks for asking. You should come with us after your shift's over... We'll show you a good time, eh, sweetheart?" Celeste said nothing in response. "It's too bad you're working... Hehehe, we would be happy to show you the 'life,' right boys?"
Celeste sat there, so awkward, so scared.
Then the door opened, another customer was coming in?

Life in the Dome was rather difficult enough when you weren't military and never would be. That daily grind of digging out an existence in the slums drove more than a few people to end it all rather than wake up the next day. No reason to do that if you had nothing to expect the next day other than more of the same terrible conditions. Living three separate lives then was bound to be three times as hard, three times as nerve wracking as usual. The pinknette who sauntered up to the bar was an exception to that rule. Sure she had to live each day splitting time between the adorably airheaded waitress, a quiet young man of no repute and the antagonist to each side's insanity, but that was fine. Millie thrived in difficult situations. Only by charging headlong into the chaos of this reality could she really feel empowered to make changes of any kind. After a day at work of her (Millie brought out full femme mode in Monroe) waitress work Millie needed to kick back with a drink.
Not to mention that a bar was a great place to overhear some gossip about the latest goings-on. Even some tighter lips could be loosened with the right amount of alcohol; perfect for picking out some things to talk about on the air. Other times it was handy to meet a contact in a bar, since you could go in pretending to date or something. Millie did admit that it was kind of fun to flirt when dressed up like this but things never got out of hand. Tonight it was more to try and eavesdrop than anything else that brought her to this particular watering hole. Still dressed for work she stood out in a close fitting black skirt, white blouse and beaten but kind of nice flats. She tossed some colorful locks over her shoulder before stepping inside and putting on her best smile.
Inside she spotted a fellow waitress in what appeared to be quite the jam. At least she had to assume that the poor girl with some jerk's arm around her was a colleague of some sort. By that uncomfortable look on her face it was pretty clear this wasn't something she really was enthused about happening to her. Probably gonna be a tough haul to get her out of that, but you didn't take up the mantle of Voice of the Voiceless if you expected things to be smooth sailing all the time. Putting a bit of extra swing into her hips to exaggerate curves that were largely constructed, Millie made her way to the table as well. For show she deliberately stumbled, crouched and showed off her rear for the fellows seated there. When she stood she was blushing a little before looking to the waitress in distress.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I was just looking for my friend here.. I might be looking for work and she said she could put in a good word.." Millie mentioned, sounding as if this were the most natural thing in the world.

Misogynistic patrons were just one of many dangers facing the waitress of the Dome, just as it had always been in the industry. Some were more used to it than others, but even a thick skinned lady might well find herself overwhelmed by the filth. Millie smiled encouragingly to the poor waitress who'd been wrangled into being a customer's personal object for a time. Thankfully the girl was playing along well if nervously. Nervous Millie could work with. To further encourage the man to let the waitress go Millie gave him a winning smile as thanks despite the intrusion. Keep them trapped in the pink haze and they wouldn't notice anything had gone wrong until much later if at all. Should they call her on it Millie was perfectly willing to make the man pay more attention to herself. It was a well practiced skill that usually ended up getting her more tips at the place she usually worked.
"Thanks, gents. Hopefully I'll see you again in a little while," she purred, gently taking Celeste by the hand and sauntering towards the bar.
Once they were out of earshot, she winked at the waitress and whispered, "Hope that was okay for me to do. Are you all right? Those guys looked like first degree creeps.. I can help you out the rest of the night if you'd like. From one server to another?"
Then she added, "The name's Millie. Nice to meet you."

"Hey, no problem, no problem. Do what ya need ta do, ehehehe. We'll be waitin'~"
Whatever the waitress did, it worked, as Celeste was firmly now free to do as he wished to do, and soon enough his savior had taken his hand and led him away from those men. Incidentally, Celeste (and most likely this fellow waitress) would hear comments from those men along the lines of They look cute together and maybe we should get them to have some fun with each other. Celeste shuddered as he heard these words. Eventually when they were out of earshot, the waitress winked and whispered asking him if it was okay for her to do. "Th-thank you... It usually doesn't get this bad for me, the boss... The boss tries to tell some of the patrons not to go too far but he's busy right now... So he couldn't watch over me..." he said timidly, blushing faintly, though it was more out of embarrassment than anything.
She introduced herself as Millie thereafter. "N, nice to meet you too, Millie, my name is Celeste Farina. Actually, I only work here for tonight. Each day I am sent to a different place. All I know is that there is an agreement between the establishments in this area to pass me around." he said, sighing.
"Thank you very much for helping me. I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't shown up."

As the pair of servers walked away from the table Millie's well trained ears picked up stray comments about potential pairings or 'requests'. Those weren't all that uncommon from her experience so she wasn't surprised in the least. Lewd comments were typical of her usual work, and in an odd way they were complimentary. Not being a real woman and all it was actually empowering to know all they saw in Millie was femininity. The waitress she'd rescued was still a bundle of anxious nerves, so it was going to be best to take this gently. Probably likely those jerks in the corner weren't going to leave anytime soon. Their distraction would only last so long until Celeste would have to go back to work. With the way things were going Millie instinctively knew it would end badly for the poor thing; given a taste of what they desired those guys weren't going to give up just because another pretty face had come in briefly. Which meant that she'd just have to hang around and ensure that her comrade in servitude didn't get in too deep.
"A different place every day? That sounds really rough, Celeste. Kind of sounds like they're treating you like a piece of meat to trade around, no offense.. but at least your boss tries to watch over you. But if he's busy there's nothing else to do," Millie responded to Celeste's concerns, "But to have me moonlight as your partner in crime. Just consider me a guardian angel tonight.."
She looked thoughtful as she considered something, then giggled, "Don't worry, I'll let you keep all the tips. I can't help you with that arrangement but I can try to be your coworker sometimes, if you'd like. People like us have to stick together!"
Then she added, "We should have a signal so that if you're in trouble you can get my attention... don't worry about me, I deal with this kind of stuff all the time."

"At this point I don't bother questioning it anymore, it's the only way I can keep myself afloat,[/url]" Celeste sighed. Looks like, from his own perspective, this Millie was able to handle herself reasonably well, and was more confident in handling those men. Then again, he idly wondered what her past was. Celeste faced nothing but abuse and harassment, he was afraid to be hurt again. Soon Millie said she would be his guardian angel tonight. Fidgeting, Celeste looked back at the people he was supposed to be attending to. Fortunately they were still drinking themselves silly. They still had some time to chat. "I see, I think that is a good idea," Celeste finally said after trying to calm himself down. He realized that as much as he tried not to think about it, he really did need saving. And this Millie was already proving to be someone he could trust in a sea of rats and filth. "Still, I'm indebted to you for this."
Finally, Millie added that there should be a signal so that if he was in trouble he could get her attention, and said not to worry about her as she could handle herself. "Um... Not sure on that, actually... Maybe some sort of noticeable body language?"

"Don't you worry about a thing, honey, I'll look after you. Anyone gets their hands where they shouldn't go or says anything nasty, I'll remind them of their manners," Millie promised, offering another angelic smile to reassure Celeste. She'd always been the sort of person to take charge of a situation rather than let it dictate terms to her. Only way to survive was to always be on the lookout for dangers but not let them change who you were. Strong as she might have been she did have a bit of a soft spot for attractive people. Celeste was definitely cute in a way that couldn't really be defined by gender, which was instantly a little odd. Sure the waitress looked feminine but that didn't necessarily mean anything in the end. Millie was living proof of the truth of that statement. What interest she had could be set aside while she was looking out for the nervous server. A guardian angel first, anything else could come later.
"No need to repay me other than give me a smile. You're too pretty to frown all the time," she added somewhat teasingly before scrunching up her face in thought a bit, "Well.. I think maybe if you tug on your left ear, that'd be good. I've got the eyes of a hawk, so don't worry about me noticing it."
Then she nodded, "Yeah that sounds good. So are you ready to have a coworker?"

Celeste blushed slightly as Millie promised that she would look after him. It seemed she was confident in herself, she carried herself strongly, Celeste was somewhat jealous of her for her disposition. Regardless, she couldn't help but wonder... There was something very beautiful about her to speak of, yet Celeste wondered if it was really happening for real. Yet here he was talking to her. Eventually Millie said there was no need to repay her than to give her a smile. In response. Celeste managed to eke a weak smile that was uncharacteristic of his usual morose demeanor. He nodded as Millie suggested that he tug on his left ear. "Alright. I think I can roll with that," he agreed. "I certainly am ready to have a coworker, Millie."
For the first time in years, Celeste was able to smile.

Getting a smile at all was very difficult but Millie was a very patient person. You kind of had to be when you worked as a waitress, since people took forever to decide what they wanted or just wanted to oggle you before placing an order. What she saw here was a wounded but beautiful person who was resigned to her fate. Someone needed to show Celeste that she was actually valued in positive ways. Instantly the waitress/secret radio personality felt rather protective of this soul she'd only just encountered. Whatever could be done to help Celeste would be Millie's pleasure and duty simultaneously. To encourage the slightly more positive shift in mood Millie smiled along with Celeste as she took stock of what drinks the place had sitting behind the counter. Since she was going to help out she might as well know what they did and didn't have.
"Then consider me your work buddy. Together there's no bar we can't tame!" she responded cheerfully, then impulsively hugged Celeste. After doing so Millie pulled away and asked, "So.. should we get started?"

Celeste briefly looked back towards the men he was attending. They weren't impatient but they seemed eager for his return. Millie was looking at the drinks available and told him that he should consider her his work buddy. Celeste continued to smile before she hugged him. "Yes, let's get started, then. I am sure we'll do great together, right?" Celeste said, a slightly renewed vigor in his voice before he turned away. "Guess I'll need to entertain those guys again." he said before nodding and slowly making his way back to the group of men he was with earlier before Millie intervened. Celeste tried to be less awkward though he was trying his best to appease the men he was with. His demure, timid behavior is what seemed to attract these folks to him and it showed.
Millie from her vantage point could see the reasons why those men were treating Celeste as they did.

The rest of the work night went about as you'd expect with two pretty servers attending to a group of drunks who were a bit too friendly. Millie never actually got to meet the boss of the place, but nobody questioned whether or not she was actually an employee. A few times she 'accidentally' stumbled or dropped some change for customers to ensure the drunks weren't entirely paying attention to Celeste. Divide and conquer was an old maxim that held true for waitressing just as much as it did for the battlefield. Eventually she'd had to get involved with the group to help her work buddy when Celeste got in over her head. Or maybe it was his head. An expert of sorts on disguising one's gender Millie thought she detected something off about Celeste despite the server's demure, submissive behavior. So the last half hour or so of the shift involved Millie sitting at the table with the guys while Celeste was allowed a reprieve.
At the end of the shift Millie helped clean the place up, then waited for Celeste to get her things together. Only polite to wait so they didn't have to traverse the wee hours of the morning alone. Who knew when drunken soldiers might come by, see a pretty face a decide to force the issue? Together they'd be safer for certain. No broadcast would be made that night, but M.C. Punk wasn't on every single night. Too much saturation would allow enemies to track down the signal and eliminate the voice of the Voiceless. Somehow they'd made it out of work without getting felt up too much - they'd get a rude surprise if they did that with the pinknette. As it was she was happy to be off the extra job for a bit so that she could maybe learn more about the feminine employee she'd saved. Once they were out the door she smiled again and took Celeste's hand gently.
"Aren't you glad to have that shift done? I didn't think those guys would ever leave," she gave a brief scowl before giggling, "But here we are still in one piece. That is the power of teamwork!"
Then she asked, "So is your place close? I'd be happy to have you over at mine, just in case anyone gets funny ideas about following you home. You deserve some peace and quiet for a little while."

Fortunately for Celeste he was able to get short breaks between having to serve with Millie's moves. Even towards the end of the shift Millie was taking over as Celeste was allowed a break, which mostly involved him taking deep breaths while drinking water. When it was all over Millie helped Celeste to clean and close up, before waiting for him to get his things together. Just a purse containing his necessities, he tended to carry stuff light since when he walked alone he was always at a risk of getting jumped. After Celeste was ready they were out the door and Millie took his hand gently. She scowled as if acting indignant towards the guys they had served, but seemed otherwise happy with the outcome. "Yes, I most certainly am glad for your help. We do seem to work quite well together, don't we?" Celeste said, smiling and nodding in agreement. Yes, he would definitely like to come to know Millie better too. She would probably be getting close to his first real friend around these parts.
Then she asked him if his place was close. "No, sadly, not so. My place is very far from here. I have to walk alone for thirty minutes. It is so scary." he admitted, looking meek and sad.

Millie was swinging their joined hands as they walked away from the bar, a decision already made in her mind. With how dangerous it could get out here it only made sense for them to go to her place for rest. The fact the server was still smiling showed her that things were going much better than they usually did. Even if smiling were a different look for Celeste it was a positive change all the same. Now she just had to swing it that they'd get to work together more often, which pretty much meant leaving the previous waitress job. A girl could only take so many hours of sleep before she passed out from exhaustion. She kept a vigilant eye out as they walked toward her place even as Celeste was just lamenting the distance to her place. That wouldn't be a problem soon enough since Millie's home was maybe a third of the distance that Celeste's was.
"If it's really that far then I insist you stay at my place tonight! I have this couch that's super comfy, I got it in a bet with a drunken patron one time," she told her work buddy, "We could both use some time to rest after everything we did there.. just please don't judge me too harshly on how messy it is."
Then she added, "If you don't mind me saying, you're really cute. Though I bet that gets you a lot of attention you don't want. Trust me, I know all about that kind of attention.."

Celeste felt Millie swing their joined hands together as if they were close friends. It was, in a word, heart-warming for Celeste that there were people who seemed to genuinely care about him. Even if, out of the slim chance, he was being played, it didn't matter, it was still worth knowing this young lady. Millie then insisted that he stay at her place for the night, mentioning that she had a super comfy couch. If it was closer to the area than Celeste's place then of course, why not? It would also be a good idea to talk more casually with Millie too and get to know her better. "Sure, I would love to stay over, thank you very much," Celeste said, smiling warmly and sincerely once more. Then after saying her piece (also warning Celeste not to judge her on how messy the place was) she added that she thought Celeste was really cute, which was a big part of why he got such negative attention.
Celeste would normally seethe at that but it came from someone who proooobably got the same kind of attention too, and of course, she clarified that and tried her best to be non-offensive about it. "Yeah, I believe you. After all, if you don't mind me saying, you too, are quite attractive. It would be better if we stuck together, you know, safety in numbers and all," Celeste meekly pointed out. "Anyway, thank you for everything. You are really a savior."
