HISTORY cecilia's origins are nothing to rave about. she is a byproduct of deprived lust in a wasteland, the end result of nine months of extreme vulnerability for a red haired woman. perhaps it would have been better for her tiny little body to have been cast to the zombies at that point, but a change of heart led cecilia's mother to effectively gain citizenship with a dome, enlisted in their forces. unlike a lot of other drifters, she hadn't joined up with any rebellion or really affiliated with any band of raiders that were doing their own thing. however, to put it bluntly, cecilia's mother was a bitch by nature and not enjoyable to much of anyone. she was a kleptomaniac and had been completely unable to maintain any semblance of relationship on any level. all that she had going for her was a superior intelligence, and the government could utilize said intelligence for the development of new technologies and whatnot. while her mother was busy, cecilia would sit by an old television and watch things on a barely functioning vcr, being raised by disney instead of the chaotic and toxic world. her mother would raise in prominence. she wasn't necessarily a rags to riches story, rather a "don't trust you one bit" to a "do work for us and we'll allot you a little more than the bare necessities". but that was okay for her. the little pest that she had given birth to, cecilia, was becoming more and more like her every single day. she was intelligent and optimistic, innocent in her intentions and graceful in her action. cecilia's mother still couldn't do much to raise the child, but she was able to grant her somewhat of an acceptable education that would further develop the little redhead into something special. while far from a prodigy, the girl would tinker for hours on end with the same movies from her childhood on in the background. the horrible world around her began to leak into her view naturally as she aged and her peripheral vision expanded. this did not keep her down, though, as the girl was beginning to steal herself even at the young age of thirteen. mature and self sufficient enough, cecilia knew little else other than textbooks and machines and her mother. in this world, she counted herself lucky to even be alive and told herself that socializing and making contact with others would just put herself at risk. cecilia was a shut in. she had already decided what was important in her life and didn't need much of any distractions. while an innate curiosity did keep her inspired, she still didn't act too far out of her zone except when acquiring bits and pieces to tinker with. life wasn't too horrible at all, her mother had even become somewhat of a public figure. however, she had never become that likable of a person, even after her life had become more favorable. with an entire array of enemies, she was accused of smuggling. there was very little evidence, but as her enemies held some weight in the government and her kleptomania earning a kind of infamy after the allegations, she was able to be condemned. with how smugglers were viewed, they were able to put her to death. and what would happen to cecilia kweli, the daughter of the magnificent researcher? well, she would be accused of similar charges while just at the age 21. distraught with the loss of the only figure in her life, it hardly mattered to the woman when she was thrown in a prison. it wasn't until 2 years later that a benefactor came across the work of kweli's mother, intrigued by direction and progress and discovered that her daughter had remained in captivity for the last two years. cecilia was removed from prison a changed, colder, woman that had just about forgotten everything those disney movies had instilled on her character, and was tested and questioned until it was clear that she was the only one that could continue the work of her mother that had recaptured the interest of the government. cecilia couldn't forgive the system, the people that murdered her mother. but this changed girl was hardly deterred by that, happy to get to work on remembering what her mother had taught her about the research she had done and do something productive with her life rather than sit in captivity. flexing her newly acquired freedom, cecilia would soon invent and improve many weapons used by the military and prove to be a much more tolerable version of her mother. they don't seem to care or even recall of what they had done to her, but the more work she does and the more achievements she accumulates the less her history feels relevant to her. | ||||||||
